Battleground Community Church

LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE AT BATTLEGROUND COMMUNITY CHURCH
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. We seek to follow His leadership in all things. The Lord has set forth in His Word the leadership structure for His Church. The two offices of the Church are Pastors/Elders and Deacons.

PASTORS/ELDERS
Battleground Community is led by a capable team of God-called Pastors/Elders. We use the term “Pastor” to identify those who receive their living from the work of ministry. “Elders” are those who voluntarily serve the Lord’s Church as shepherds alongside those who are “double-honored."

DEACONS
Battleground Community is served by a team of Deacons who are responsible as leaders in various areas of ministry. The Deacons involve others in carrying out those servant responsibilities so that the Pastors/Elders can devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Areas of ministry include: First Impressions, hospital visitation, Baptism, Communion, and home-bound visitations.

Stephen Littlejohn

Stephen grew up in Gastonia and came to know the Lord at the age of 8. He has been a member of Parkwood Baptist Church since 1993. Stephen married Christina at Parkwood in 1994 and in the years following, was blessed with five children: Jacob, Laura, Rachel, Shawn, and Eliana. He has served as a deacon, Growth Group teacher, Elder and planted Battleground Community Church where he now serves as the Lead Pastor. He is passionate about teaching, discipleship, and missions.

Micah Moffitt

Micah grew up in Bessemer City and came to salvation through Christ at the age of 20. He and his wife Megan have been married since 2017 and have a beautiful daughter named Esther and a baby boy named Elijah. Outside of leading worship and worship ministry, Micah loves spending time together with his family, everything music, songwriting, basketball, lifting weights, and cooking.
